Facebook Like And Activity Feeds

Facebook recently announced new features available for your blog or website. It’s part of their “Social Plugins” project. You can find more info the Facebook for Web Sites page. The plugins are hosted by Facebook and personalized for all users who are logged into Facebook.

One feature provides the ability to add a Facebook Like icon to your site. The default behavior places the Facebook “Like/ Recommend” icon at the bottom of each page or post, just above the comments section. Since I’m already utilizing a different social media plugin I’ve placed the plugin into manual mode and customized the page to only display when viewing this post.

You can see how it works by clicking it, click it again if you want to remove it. You can find the code for it here or if you are using WordPress you can add the easy to use SVN Facebook Like plugin.

The Recent Activity social plugin for Facebook displays recent likes and recommendations. You can customize the code here and then insert it into a WordPress Sidebar widget. I’ve it added at the bottom of this post.

I’ve also placed the Recommendations plugin down below. It works similarly to the recent activity plugin.
