Matthew 28:05-06

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. “He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.

Matthew 28:05-06 (NASB)

Comment: Do not allow fear to mislead or fool you with things that are not true. We have no cause to be afraid when we place our faith in God’s promises that are true. Seek Him and you will find Him, and then look forward to meeting Him face to face. He is our reward.

Matthew 24:06

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened or troubled, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.

Matthew 24:06 (AMP)

Comment: When our hearts are fixed and trusting in God we are able to be at peace and unafraid of outside troubles that we have no control over.

Matthew 11:28-29

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentile at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Matthew 11:28-29 (NLT)

Comment: Heed the call of Christ and lay down your burdens before Him, your burdens of worry, of fear, of all sin. Let the power of Christ provide you with His peace that provides rest from the power of sin.

Seagull On A Rock

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea, they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

— Habakkuk 2:14 (NIV)

I took this photo on our first trip to Pacific Grove, California in March 2006. Pacific Grove is a small community located right on the peninsula near Monterey. It was about 7:30 pm with the sun getting ready to set. I’m not sure what it is about the sights and sounds of waves crashing on the rocks, but I can spend hours doing it, especially when the sun is rising or setting. I guess it gives you a sense of how small we are in the world, how insignificant we are in the universe. I like what James said in 4:14 – You don’t even know what your life tomorrow will be! You are like a puff of smoke, which appears for a moment and then disappears.  (GNT)

Wow! a puff of smoke and then gone. So what do I take from that? Make your life count, make it count for the kingdom of God.

Genesis 50:21

You have nothing to fear. I will take care of you and your children. So he reassured them with kind words that touched their hearts.

Genesis 50:21 (GNT)

Comment: A broken spirit must be bound up, an offer of forgiveness and a comforting word provides encouragement and comfort to drive away fear.

Genesis 50:19-20

But Joseph replied, Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you? You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.

Genesis 50:19-20 (NLT)

Comment: When we ask forgiveness from someone we have offended, do not place them in such high a position that we are afraid of their disapproval, make peace with God and you will find it easier to make peace with man.
